THE CIDERS

We forage the fruit for our traditionally crafted, dry, hard cider, of which there are typically 5-6 blends available in bottles and on draft. We offer a $7 tasting with 2-oz. pours of each cider, during which we’ll tell the story of how each came to be.

  • Naskeag Point

Naskeag Point is on the Blue Hill Peninsula, and these apples are foraged from WoodenBoat campus and Brooklin town landing. Stone fruit-forward, fermented with wild yeast—clean and dry. 7.8% ABV

  • Quiet sider

Still cider from homesteads on the working-class side of Mount Desert Island. The people who live on the quiet side of “the island” make a lot of the magic for the many visitors there, and this is our celebration of them. 6.8% ABV

  • Sal's Dream

Kerplink, kerplank, kerplunk! Skin-contact-fermented blueberry wine blended with hard cider. Refreshing, all grown up, and about as Maine as it comes. 7.2% ABV

  • From Away

As the name suggests, the fresh cider came to us pressed from upstate New York from friends we know and trust. We fermented this with care, and the price point makes it a good post-work pint. Currently draft only: 32 oz Howlers for home are available. 6% ABV

  • LUNDI GRAS

Draft cider of Cayuga White and Léon Millot (red) grapes co-fermented with Ida Red apples. A collaboration with friends from upstate New York aged for two years in stainless. 9% ABV

  • '22 LAMOINE IN BLUE

Bright and bubbly draft cider! The dry, champagne-like ‘22 Lamoine in bottles might be gone, but we had a little bit put aside for a blend such as this. Free-run organic blueberries from Blue Barren farms give this cider a refreshing acidity. 7% ABV

  • 2022 Perry Pét Nat

ALL GONE: 100% pears, “Perry” means pear cider, and ours is made from true cider fruit we gathered in 2022. Also back and in short supply: 2023’s limited harvest.

  • 2023 Lamoine Pét Nat

ALL GONE: Simple, dry cider foraged entirely from Lamoine, Maine. “Pét Nat” simply means that it’s naturally bubbly. For this batch, we’ve finished it champenoise style—the bottles have been disgorged, a process you can see here.

  • 2023 SHORT-RUN PERRY PÉT NAT

ALL GONE: Limited pears this past year means these 500 mL bottles are going quickly. Delicate, floral, and special.

  • Peter Spruce

ALL GONE: Peter’s Brook in East Blue Hill and its little public park there has three trees in it that produced a cider we just couldn’t blend with the others. We added spruce tips and put these precious five gallons into a keg that will go quickly!
